About

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Sam Columbus was first plopped down in front of a piano at the ripe old age of four. His interest in music led him to audition for the Children's Festival Chorus of Pittsburgh, which led to chorus roles in Pittsburgh Opera's productions of Carmen and Turandot. Eventually, a love of opera would give way to a love of musical theatre, and this love led Sam to enroll at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, OH, where he is working towards a BM in Music Theatre.

In his time at Baldwin Wallace, Sam has performed at the Beck Center for the Arts, the Clinton Area Showboat Theatre, and the historic Timber Lake Playhouse. He has also toured with the Baldwin Wallace University Motet Choir, performing their concert Elements in the D.C, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh areas.  Most recently, Sam served as the Assistant Music Director for the Clinton Area Showboat Theatre's 2018 summer season.

In his spare time, Sam can usually be found cooking, reading, playing piano, practicing his sleight of hand, or trying to convince his friends to sing barbershop tags with him.

After graduation, he plans to move to New York City.
